Dear Heroes of the Storm Team,
I hope this message finds you well. As a long-time fan of Blizzard games and a dedicated player of Heroes of the Storm, I truly appreciate your ongoing efforts to support the game, especially during its long-term support phase.
While the core gameplay remains enjoyable, I (along with many fellow fans) have felt that some heroes are either underrepresented or not fully aligned with their original lore and identity. With that in mind, I would like to respectfully propose a set of new hero concepts that could bring both nostalgic excitement and fresh gameplay variety to the Nexus.
Hero Proposals
- Grommash Hellscream – Warlord of Wrath
Role: Bruiser / Melee Fighter
Theme: Rage-fueled combat, berserker mechanics, fel corruption
Design Concept: Unlike Garrosh, who leans toward crowd control and tanking, Grommash would embody the raw fury of an Orc warrior. He builds up a Rage resource through combat. His ultimate ability would transform him after absorbing the Heart of Y’Shaarj, granting increased attack speed, damage, and cleave effects for a short time.
- Khadgar – Archmage of Dalaran
Role: Ranged Spell Damage
Theme: Arcane magic, time manipulation, burst DPS
Design Concept: Khadgar would be a true offensive mage, in contrast to Medivh’s utility role. His toolkit would feature Arcane Barrage, Time Warp Zones that reduce enemy speed or cooldowns, and a powerful ultimate like Arcane Storm—a persistent AoE explosion zone.
- Tirion Fordring – Champion of the Light
Role: Melee Hybrid (DPS / Off-support)
Theme: Retribution, holy justice, single-target burst
Design Concept: Unlike Uther, who serves mainly as a support, Tirion would be a retribution-focused paladin. Abilities might include Judgment of Light (bonus damage + healing), Divine Intervention (short invulnerability on ally), and a beam-style ultimate Light’s Verdict, piercing enemies with holy energy.
- Vol’jin – Shadow Hunter
Role: Ranged DoT Mage
Theme: Shadow magic, hexes, poison/curse damage
Design Concept: Vol’jin would specialize in sustained magical pressure. Abilities would stack damage over time (Shadowburn, Hexed Blood), with an ultimate like Voodoo Wrath—detonating all DoTs on nearby enemies for massive burst. His playstyle would reward positioning and timing over brute force.
I believe these heroes could fill both mechanical niches and thematic gaps, offering fans a more authentic connection to the Blizzard universe they love.
Even during a maintenance phase, occasional lore-driven updates—especially highly requested heroes—could energize the community and reignite interest from lapsed players.
Thank you again for all the work you’ve done to keep this unique title alive. I, and many others, would love to see the Nexus shine once more with champions truly worthy of their legacy.
Warm regards,
Long-time WoW player & Heroes of the Storm supporter
