Request for Hero Rework: Preserving the Lore and Identity of Iconic Characters in Heroes of the Storm

Dear Blizzard Heroes of the Storm Team,

As a long-time fan of Blizzard games, including World of Warcraft and Warcraft III, I have deeply enjoyed Heroes of the Storm as a tribute to the legacy of your universes. However, I—and many other lore-driven players—feel that some iconic characters have not been faithfully represented in terms of identity, lore, and gameplay style.

I would like to respectfully propose a series of rework ideas that aim to preserve the original fantasy and essence of these characters while still fitting within the structure of HotS.

:wrench: Suggested Hero Reworks:
Garrosh Hellscream: Reimagine as a bruiser-type warrior rather than a pure tank. His ultimate could involve absorbing the Heart of Y’Shaarj, transforming him into a corrupted, empowered state.

Rexxar: Make him a self-sufficient melee bruiser or hunter with Misha as a support DPS companion—not the primary source of power. Capture his identity as a survivalist tracker.

Arthas Menethil: Increase resemblance to WotLK Frost DK — more proactive control, ice-based abilities, and presence as the Lich King.

Illidan Stormrage: Upon activating Metamorphosis, transform the core abilities to iconic Demon Hunter skills (Eye Beam, Blade Dance, Fel Rush).

Samuro: Shift his focus from illusion gimmicks to critical strikes and sword-based burst damage — true to the image of the legendary Blademaster.

Zul’jin: Reimagine as a frenzied melee warrior using his axe in close combat, with high-risk high-reward mechanics — closer to his WoW iteration as a one-armed berserker.

Malfurion Stormrage: Instead of a fixed healer role, allow form-switching druid gameplay: bear for tanking, moonkin for DPS, treant or base form for healing — true to his multi-role potential in WoW.

These changes would not only rekindle excitement among lore-driven fans, but also strengthen the game’s unique identity as a true Blizzard All-Star Universe. Even as Heroes enters its long-term support phase, small but meaningful reworks like these would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you for keeping this special game alive.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
